ECB’s Executive Board appoints Director General Statistics

The Executive Board of the European Central Bank (ECB) has appointed Aurel Schubert as Director General Statistics. He will take up his duties on 1 June 2010 and succeed Steven Keuning, who has served as Director General Human Resources, Budget and Organisation since 1 January 2010.

Aurel Schubert has been Director of the Statistics Department at the Oesterreichische Nationalbank since 1997. Before that, he held several expert and management functions within the Oesterreichische Nationalbank, which he joined in 1985 after finishing his university studies.
