Agent-Based Modelling for Policy (ABM4Policy) workshop - Call for papers

The European Central Bank (ECB) is co-organising the 4th edition of the Agent-Based Modelling for Policy (ABM4Policy) workshop. The workshop aims to foster an open dialogue between academics and policy makers from central banks and other international institutions by discussing relevant research as well as open issues and challenges in using agent-based models for policy analysis.

Topics and submissions

Submission deadline: 9 April 2025

Against this background, we welcome contributions on the following non-exhaustive list of topics:

  • Interactions between the real economy and the financial sector
  • Financial stability, bubbles, crises, systemic risk
  • Monetary, fiscal, and macro- and micro-prudential policies
  • Digital money, including central bank digital currencies (CBDC)
  • Climate-related financial risks and policies
  • Calibration, estimation and forecasting with agent-based models

A number of selected papers will be published in a special section of Industrial and Corporate Change, Macro Economics and Development.

Submission of papers

Submissions of full papers or extended abstracts are welcome in PDF format to ABM4policy2025@ecb.europa.eu by Wednesday, 9 April 2025. The authors of accepted papers will be notified by Wednesday, 30 April.

Venue

The conference will be held at the premises of the European Central Bank in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

Expenses

External participants are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses.
