The economy is recovering more slowly than we expected

People are not buying as many goods and services. Firms are also holding back investments. Some industries find it difficult to compete with the rest of the world. But over time, the economy should get stronger.

Wages are going up, but by less than before

Many people are in work and new jobs are still being created. But firms are posting fewer vacancies.

Inflation is gradually on its way down

Some services are still getting more expensive, as a late response to the high inflation of the past. In the coming months inflation may go up and down a bit. But overall, we expect it to soon settle at around our 2% target.
