ECB discontinues the Swiss franc liquidity-providing operations

The Governing Council of the European Central Bank (ECB) has decided, in agreement with the Swiss National Bank, to stop conducting one-week Swiss franc liquidity-providing swap operations after 31 January 2010. This decision was made against the background of declining demand and improved conditions in the funding markets.
