Investment funds pool capital from multiple investors in a portfolio of assets, commonly securities. They play a role in accumulating personal savings, providing funds to companies and projects, fostering growth and creating jobs.
This dataset refers to the assets and liabilities of investment funds based in euro area countries. Data for both outstanding amounts and transactions are available. Investment funds are distinguished by investment policy (equity funds, bond funds, mixed funds, real estate funds, hedge funds, other funds) and by type of fund (open-end or closed-end funds).
This dataset does not cover money market funds or pension funds, for which statistics are available separately.
